summer reading entry 4

The only thing that really drew me to read this novel was the author, John Green. His name drew me to read this book because honestly he is the only author on that list that I have herd of before. Also none of the other books really seem to pop out at me they all seemed kinda boring. I saw a lot of connections between myself and this book, I mean its about a boy going through high school starting to talk to girls making friends and dealing with peer pressure while also trying to balance his classes. And that is exactly what I am doing in my day to day life so I see a lot of connections between this book and me. I would recommend this book to anyone in around my age because like I said it relates a lot to my age group of people. I don't think It would matter if it was a boy or girl reading it I think both genders will like it just as much even though the book is told through a boys perspective, But the overall message and meaning of the book should communicate to any gender. Some older people than myself might also like this book because they can relate from when they were in high school but it is a lot more relevant to people my age.

summer reading entry 3

"One hundred thirty- six days before" that is how my book Looking for Alaska starts off. After that the author John Green goes on with the story as if he didn't just start of by saying that. By doing this he instantly hooked me and I am guessing that a lot of readers feel the same way. He never explains that number out front so it leaves the reader wondering as to what is going to happen when it reaches zero. Throughout the book at the beginning of each chapter he gives us a new number for example "Seventy- six days before" and with each new chapter the number gets smaller making the reader tingle with anticipation. Suddle hints are dropped throughout the book as to what happens when it reaches zero, making the reader want to keep reading. It does finally reach zero and you find out what happens when it does near the end of the book, and let me tell you it was not what I was expecting. I am not going to spoil what happens in this blog, because I hate when people spoil things for me so if you really want to know you will have to go and read Looking for Alaska.

summer entry two

I am really liking how John Green has created these character because they are all so deep and different in there own way. Before Pudge came to Culver Creek he has never done anything exeting or bad in his life. But when he met his new friends they sucked him into a world of smoking pranks and girls and it is everything he hoped it would be. But the only thing he really wants in Alaska Young the only problem is that she has a boyfriend and is terribly bipolar and moody. On the other hand his friend the Cornol has only two goals in life and that is to get drunk every knight and two prank all the "weekend warriors" that  is his name for all the kids that go to his school that are painfully wealthy and spend every weekend at there mansions partying while everyone else must stay on campus. The only Character i can not figure out is Alaska and honestly i think that john Green wanted her to be this way to get more attached to the character and more interred in the book at the same time.

summer entry one

I am currently reading looking for Alaska. The setting is a boarding school for more intellectual kids named Culver Creek. Pudge use to go to public school and while he was there he was living a very boring and uneventful life. He also did not have a lot of friends. So he went to Culver Creek to look for his great perhaps. When he gets there he gets just that when he meets his roommate who goes by the name of the Cornol who then introduces him to the beautiful crazy and unpredictable Alaska Young. The first page of the book just says the word "Before" and then he story starts on the second page. Also at the beginning of each chapter it says a number of days before, for example "100 days before". The actual story never acknowledges what happens when the days gets to zero and what all the is before. I am almost positive it has something to do with Alaska like the first time Pudge kisses her or something of that matter. But i guess i will have to keep reading to find out.

I just finished my book and i cannot believe how good it was. Books like the one i just read remind me of why i love to read so much. When i get lost in the world of the book and nothing can take me out until i read at least 20 chapters then i look at the clock and realize that it has been two hours. This is my last blog of the year officially for school. But i know for a fact i will be reading a lot over the summer so who knows maybe i will continue to blog also. I really enjoy typing all my thoughts down and sharing them with the world it also really helps me think and anylize my book and understand it more.

post 8

while reading my book i came across a very interesting quote it reads "He just spoke out against his own leaders so casually i almost missed it. I wonder if that's the kind of place this is- where dissent can be expressed in public". I thought this was interesting because because it shows how important out freedom of speech really is (not to get to patriotic with you). Even though it was a slight nod from the reader it really stick in my brain for some reason. Because i started to think there are country's in the real world that cannot really say what they think in fear that they might be punished for it. I think things like that is what really makes me enjoy my book, little hints to problems in the real world through a world that is made up.

HUGE SPOILER ALERT AHEAD!!!!!! i have been addicted to allegation and i have found out so much by just reading a chapter. Veronica Roth is really wrapping everything up in the series and it is all coming into view. Like i said in the first sentence i am giving away big parts of the book here so if you have gotten to page 176 yet then i suggest you stop reading now. As the people in the real world are explaining things i found out everything is about this genetic healing idea, the factions the test and the serums are all part of it. I was starting to wonder if Veronica Roth knew about this part of the story since the beginning or if she is just making it up as she goes. Because if this is all planned out she is one crazy smart writer

In my book they have recently started talking about genetic transferring and mutating. I think this is a really interesting topic and worth blogging about. I also read a article about how scientist in the real world are genetically changing how monkeys and other animals turn out when they grow up. This article also stated that they can probably use this technology on humans in the next ten years. So you will be able to pick what your kid is good at in life. For instants you can have a smart kid or a athletic kid or a small kid or a tall kid, you get to choose whatever you want. I think that this is interesting because you can really change what your child will be like in the further and i don't know yet if that much power is a good or bad thing.

post 5

As i am continuing to read my book i am getting more disappointed with it the longer i continue to read. The first two books in the series where really really good and i enjoyed them a lot. The beginning of this book was also really good but as it progressed the main character named Tris just becomes more and more of a brat. I feel like she is just constantly whining and complaining about everything. She had some of these traits before in the series but now they are amplified to level 10 and i cant stand it. But i am a person that finishes what he starts so i am going to finish the book and the series as soon as possible.

Final Blogging Assesment in English 1B

I have now started to read Allaigent again and it is amazing book. I cant put it down, During second bell the teacher yelled at me because i was reading while she was talking. Since I am thinking about this book so much i have to blog about it and in doing that i am going to give away a lot of spoiler. So for anyone who does not want the book spoiled stop reading this blog now. So to inform you where i am i just reached the part in the book where Tris, Four and others wounderd out of the city and have met the people who have taken them to there headquarters in an old Airport. i really like how Veronica Roth puts Tris in out world making it seem like she is real on example of that is in this quote, 'The concrete walls hold my attention-they are covered with strange pictures of people with skin so smooth they hardly look like people anymore, or colorful bottles with shampoo or conditioner or vitamins or unfamiliar substances inside them, words i don't understand, 'vodka' and 'Coca-cola' and 'energy drink'." (Roth page 103) But it also leaves me with so many questions, Like what happened to the world? why did theses people not go into the city also? how are they still alive after so long? since they still are alive why did they put people into a separate city? where exactly are they right now? As you can see i have a lot of questions i need answered so hopefully i will get some time to read so i can figure them out. starting insurgent

I recently finished my book called lone surviver and it was really good. but you will have to look at my other pos to find out more about that. I have been looking for a new book latly becuse i love to read. Then I remembered that I started insurgent but i never got around to finishing it. In case you dont know Insurgent is the 3rd book in the divergent series. I already read the first two in the series and they where really good. It had a strong message of facing your fears and i also like how they have a really strong female protagnist, It really mixes things up. I have already read the first 100 or more pages and it started off pretty slow. I cant tell you alot about it becuse it will give away ALOT of spoilers for the first two books. I cant recall why i stoped reading the book but i am glad that i am picking it back up to finish this series, Hopefully i will end really good.

Krista Ramsey introduction Activity

my colum is about how fanststic legos can be for young children and how it can improve on alot of things including trail and errer and alot of creative thinking. My favorite qoute is "Like sparklers and hugs, Legos are things a child can never have enough of. Wise parents not only understand this, but support their child's Lego habit" i like this becuse i strongly agree with what she is saying in it. Her writing style is very unique and shows alot of her own voice and the peice is very insperational. one question i would ask is where she came up with the idea of writing this. another question i would ask is have you had a personal experaince with this like where you like this or youer kids or somthing like that. My finale question is how did you get this job of a columist and i would i go about to get it.

3rd post

i recently finished my book Lone Survivor and i have to say it is one of my favorite books i have ever Read, and i read a lot of books. This book was very exciting and intriguing, I also think that it was personally better for me because i like all that military stuff and think it is very interesting. witch this book provides a lot of by giving you information about how to become a Navy SEAL and what they do. As i said in my earlier post this book was very good at building suspense by putting these characters in front of death and having them barley escape for awhile and right when you start to think they will escape every time on of them dies(Witch is not a spoiler because 4 SEA Ls go in and it is called Lone Survivor so someone has to die). There is also a movie coming out made after this movie witch i am dying to see.

book theme

while i was reading my book i started to think what is the theme of this book, what is it trying to tell me. Why is it trying to tell me this. I think the theme of this book is to alwas fight through the pain and fight not for yourself but for the person fighting next to you. I think that this is the theme becuse the main character is a Navy SEAL and he says that if he where to fight for himself he would not have made it as far as he did but since he had his fellow brother in his mind who had died during battle right next to him that gave him the extra determanation to keep going. most of that determanation came from the fact that he promised his freind that he would give his wife a letter that he wrote right before he died. So marcus the main character was determaned to stay alive long enough to give his freinds wife that letter.

write a post about a dynamic character and support how that character has changed throughout the text providing textual a support

the character i will be talking about today in my blog is Guy Montage from Fahrenheit 451. He is a very dynamic character and has changed drastically throughout the book. It has been very exciting to read about his journey and what was going through his head that made him change the way that he did. In the begging of the book he fit in with everyone else in his society and did his job as a fireman and did what he was told.He watched the parlors and thought that he loved his wife. Then he started to talk to Clarisse and she changed his mind and perspective on the world. He noticed through the illusion and noticed that he wasn't really happy with his life and he did not truly love his wife. Now he is breaking the rules and on the run as a criminal for keeping books the one thing he was told to destroy as a fireman because he thought that it would give him the happiness he was missing in his life. I thought is was very interesting how much someone can change in just one week and how power full the mind can be in changing your actions and your thoughts and your personality.
